Taylor returns for her second season as an assistant after starring for the Cougars' women's basketball team for four seasons. She finished her career as the program's record-holder for career games played with 102 and is ranked sixth on the program's all-time scoring list with 962 points.
As a senior during the 2008-09 season, Poirier averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds a game while starting all 26 games. She was named to the USA South All-Conference Honorable Mention Team She started all 26 games as a junior, averaged 10.3 points and 4.0 assists a game and was selected to the USA South All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. In 2006-07, she started in 15 of the 24 games she played as a sophomore and averaged 8.5 points a game. As a freshman in 2005-06, she started in 18 of the 26 games and averaged 5.5 points a game.
