Lester Yesnick

Lester Yesnick was hired as the men's and women's tennis coach at Averett University in July 2009.

In his first season as coach, Yesnick mentored three all-conference performers, including the 2010 USA South Conference Rookie of the Year Emilia Vuorela.

Yesnick has coached and played all levels of tennis. He has 15 years of experience coaching at the high school level, including locally, where he has served as the head coach of the girls tennis team at George Washington High School for the past two seasons. He has coached players who have achieved national ranking and played NCAA tennis.

As a player, Yesnick achieved national ranking as a junior player. He later played junior college tennis and played the pro tour for 13 months.

A native of Chicago, Yesnick earned a degree in Communications from California State University - Fullerton in 1982. He also earned a bachelor of arts in English/Secondary Education from Northeastern Illinois University in 1992.
