DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University donated 1,717 canned goods as a part of the USA South Conference's Cans Across the Conference food drive. Averett's donations, which totaled 1,090 pounds, went to God's Storehouse in Danville.
Across the conference, a record 22,807 cans were collected by the league's 10 schools. This is the fifth year of the can drive, which was created by the members of the USA South Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in order to help those in need around the holiday season.
