DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University’s women’s basketball team fell to Roanoke College 66-38 on Saturday.
Roanoke (4-0) jumped out to a big lead in the first half and never looked backed. The Maroons were lead by Jaleesa Osborne, Anne Hagood and Erin Jenkins each with 10 points.
Averett (3-2) was hampered by a poor shooting night, but the Cougars were only outscored by one point in the second half. Senior
Taylor Poirier led the Cougars with 10 points while freshman
Liz Martin added nine points off the bench.
The Cougars return to action on Dec. 13 when they travel to play Eastern Mennonite University at 2 p.m.
