WINCHESTER, Va. — Shenandoah University defeated Averett 4-0 in USA South women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon.
Jessi Dennis and Katie Cataldo each scored a goal for the Hornets (in the final minutes of the first half to put Shenandoah ahead 2-0 at the break.
Amber Womack, who got the assists on the first two goals, scored in the opening seconds of the second period. Shenandoah added another goal by Stormie Malik in the 63rd minute.
Averett (6-9, 3-5 USA South) was outshot 24-3. Sophomore goalkeeper
Samantha Lupo had nine saves for the Cougars.
