GREENSBORO, N.C. — Averett had its season come to an end in a 2-0 loss to Greensboro College in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Tuesday.

The sixth-seeded Cougars (7-10-1) couldn't overcome a Greensboro goal in the opening minutes of the game. Jessica Jameson scored off assists from Tessa Hall and Mary Reinhardt less than a minute and half into the contest.

Greensboro (10-7-1) added an insurance goal from Hall in the 63rd minute.

The Pride outshot Averett 25-7. The Cougars got three shots apiece from senior Hillary Wood and freshman Silje Storstrand.
