Averett University head coach Ed Fulton and his staff will be holding their fifth annual baseball camp on Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6. The camp will be held at Owen-Fulton Field located on Averett University's North Campus. This camp is for high school age players. Campers should be in the eighth grade to attend. The cost of this camp is $100. Camp fee does not include hotel accommodations or meals. Lodging can be made for an Averett Baseball Camp Rate at The Innkeeper of Danville (434-799-1202).

Camp Information
This camp is a great opportunity for players to get instruction and learn the skills it takes to play at the college level. The coaching staff at Averett, along with other college coaches, will give instruction in hitting, pitching, position play, base running, throwing and other important fundamentals. Saturday will consist of instruction games to be played on Sunday.

Camp Staff
This camp will be led by Averett University head coach Ed Fulton who enters his 14th season as head coach at Averett. The Cougars won a conference championship in 2003 and posted a school-record 31 wins in 2007 under his guidance. Fulton will be joined by assistant coaches as well as other college coaches from all divisions. Coaches from the University of Maryland, Richmond, VMI, Longwood, Lynchburg, Old Dominion, Delaware State, Guilford College and Christopher Newport University have been present in the past.

9:30- 10:00 a.m. - Check-In
10:00-10:15 a.m. - Stretch
10:15- 11:30 a.m. - Positional Workouts/Sprint Instruction
11:30-12:00 a.m. - Throwing Progression
12:00-12:45 p.m. - Lunch*
12:45-1:45 p.m. - Positional Breakdown
1:45-2:15 p.m. - Base Running
2:15-3:15 p.m. - Hitting Lecture
3:15-5:45 p.m. - Hitting Drill Stations/ Batting Practice/ Video
*Lunch is not included, but will be available at the Averett Student Center for $7 per person.


Sunday, Dec. 6
9:00-9:30 a.m. - Stretch, Run, Throw
9:30-10:30 a.m. - Position Breakdown/ Pitching Instruction
10:30-11:30 a.m. - Hitting Rotation
11:30-1:30 p.m. - Game 1
1:30-3:30 p.m. - Game 2
