ROANOKE, Va. — Averett defeated Hollins University 75-43 on Monday night in non-conference action.
Averett (11-5) has won eight of its last 10 games, including four in a row. In their latest victory over Hollins (1-15), the Cougars used a spread-out offensive attack and solid defense to pull away in the second half.
After taking a 43-28 lead into halftime, Averett limited Hollins to just four field goals and 12.9 percent shooting in the second half.

Kristyn Wharton and freshman
Emily Barr. Sophomore
Abby Bailey added 11 points off the bench and sophomore
Kaneshia Slade finished with 10 points. Barr led the team in rebounding with nine boards.
Jasmine Greene led Hollins with 18 points.
The Cougars will look to continue their run when they travel to Meredith College on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
