Fourth-seeded Averett (9-15, 6-6 USA South) will battle with No. 5 seed Ferrum College (10-15, 4-8 USA South) in the USA South Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Grant Center.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students, faculty, staff, senior citizens and children. Averett will pay the ticket price for any current Averett students with a student ID.

Averett, the three-time defending USA South tournament champions, split the regular-season series with Ferrum. The Cougars won 69-51 at home, but fell on the road to the Panthers by a score of 59-57.

Averett is 30-21 all-time against Ferrum (18-6 in Danville), including 4-1 in conference tournament play. Under sixth-year head coach Jimmy Allen, the Cougars are 12-2 in conference tournament action. Allen's teams have an 11-3 mark versus Ferrum, including a 2-0 record in postseason play.

Averett is 23-29 all-time in conference tournament play.

The winner of Tuesday's quarterfinals games will advance to play top-seeded N.C. Wesleyan College in Friday's semifinals, which will be held in Newport News, Va., at 4 p.m. N.C. Wesleyan earned a bye in the first round.
