FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Averett seniors Brandon Malone and Chad Hardway were both chosen to the USA South All-Conference Team, the conference announced on Wednesday. Malone was voted to the first team, while Hardway was an honorable mention selection.

Senior Jeff Wehling also received recognition from the conference as Averett's representative on the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team.

Malone, a guard from Mechanicsville, Va., has averaged 12.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season while shooting 33.3 percent from 3-point range. Malone set several personal bests, including scoring a career-high 28 points against Ferrum College and Christopher Newport University. He also had a career-best eight steals against the Captains. Malone ranked among the conference's top 10 in scoring, assists and 3-pointers made, and he led the USA South with 2.6 steals a game.

Hardway, a forward from Danville, Va., has averaged 9.6 points and 5.9 rebounds a game in his return to the court after a three-year absence. In addition, he's shot 42.4 percent from the floor, including 31.7 percent from beyond the arc.  Earlier this season, he set career-highs with 21 points against Christopher Newport and 13 rebounds against Hampden-Sydney College. Hardway ranked eighth among conference players in rebounds per game.
