Averett (13-5, 9-3 USA South) takes on Methodist University (12-9, 8-6 USA South) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Grant Center.

Averett defeated Mary Baldwin College 70-68 on Wednesday night in its last time out.  The win was the Cougars’ sixth in a row and it was their 10th victory in their last 12 games. Methodist is coming off a 70-58 win over Peace College on Feb. 3. The Monarchs have won three of their last four games.

Averett defeated Methodist 63-61 on Jan. 13 in Fayetteville, N.C., in their first meeting.
