Averett golf wins Lynchburg College Invitational; Tilley ties for first place

FOREST, Va. — Averett finished the second round with a team score of 307 to seal first place at the Lynchburg College Hornet Invitational on Monday at London Downs Golf Club. Averett's two-day total of 610 topped second-place Virginia Wesleyan College by five strokes.
Sophomore
Andrew Tilley followed up his 5-over-par 77 on Sunday with a 72 on Monday to claim a share of first place. Lynchburg's Conrad Anguera also finished the two-day event with a 5-over 149.
During the final round, junior
Sam Mantiply and senior
Mark Rowland each shot a 78 and Freshman
Kalle Kangas carded a 79 to lead Averett to victory. Sophomore
Travis Bowman finished with an 83.
Lynchburg College's A Team shot a 631, Ferrum College shot a 638 and The Apprentice School carded a 646 to round out the top five.
