DANVILLE, Va. — Averett defeated USA South Conference foe Ferrum College 6-3 in men's tennis on Tuesday.

At No. 1 singles, freshman David Lembke defeated Ferrum's Christopher Martin 6-1, 6-3. Cougars senior Xavier Ruiz swept John Hartin 6-0, 6-0. Averett (3-5, 2-1 USA South) also got singles wins from freshman Kirill Orlov and junior Bruno Faidutti.

Lembke and Ruiz partnered for an 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles action and Orlov and Faidutti held of Ferrum's Matt Mellone and Hartin 8-5 at the No. 2 doubles.
