DANVILLE, Va — Averett won its second consecutive match in as many days as the Cougars dealt Guilford College a 6-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon.

Averett (4-5) got straight-set singles wins from senior Xavier Ruiz, freshman David Lembke and junior Bruno Faidutti. Freshman Kirill Orlov also won at No. 1 singles for the Cougars. He defeated Will Mason-Deese 6-2, 4-6, 10-3.

Ruiz and Lembke also got an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles and Faidutti and Orlov teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Guilford dropped to 2-5 on the season.
