FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Averett freshman David Lembke was chosen as the USA South Rookie of the Week for men's tennis on Monday.

Lembke, Leverkusen, Germany, native posted a 3-0 record in both singles and doubles action last week for the Cougars. In singles play, Lembke earned one of his wins at the No. 1 spot and two of the victories at the No. 3 position. In doubles action, Lembke first teamed with Xavier Ruiz to defeat the top teams from Guilford and Ferrum then combined with Bruno Faidutti to gain a victory over the No. 2 squad from Christopher Newport.
