Men's tennis wraps up competition at Methodist Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Averett University men's tennis team completed the final day of the Methodist University Invitational on Sunday.

With a great tournament performance during the weekend, sophomores Rustam Aliev and Carlos Lora fell 2-1 to University of Mount Olive in the B Draw finals. Junior Nicolas Quevedo and freshman Alfonso Jimenez advanced to the finals of the A Consolation after defeating Emory & Henry 3-0 but fell short in the finals.

The squad returns to the tennis court this week at the ITA Regionals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, beginning on Sept. 22.
