Averett enters this week’s regular-season finale against N.C. Wesleyan College fresh off a 34-28 triple-overtime victory at Ferrum College. That win set up a showdown for the USA South Conference championship this weekend. N.C. Wesleyan, which is coming off a 38-28 win over Shenandoah, is the only undefeated team in the conference at 5-0. The Cougars, who are 4-1, need a win over the Bishops to earn a share of the conference title. A win would also give Averett the tie-breaker for the USA South’s automatic berth into the NCAA playoffs. As part of the Senior Day activities, Averett's seniors will be recognized before the game.
