Football to host reunion during Homecoming Oct. 14-16; Registration now open

Join the Averett University football program as it celebrates the 2016 homecoming weekend from Oct. 14-15. Alumni and guests will enjoy a variety of festivities, including the hometown party, the football game, a tour of the new Frank R. Campbell Stadium and J.T. Emerson Press Box. This weekend is meant for the alumni and the current football players to bond and relive moments. You will be able to experience a tour, practice, party, and game day.  This reunion will also honor the 2006 championship team and recognize 2016 Hall of Fame inductees Jeff Hughley and Jermaine Moore. Registration information and a tentative itinerary are listed below.

Registration:

Register at www.averett.edu/homecoming
  • $40 per player:  Includes Friday hometown party, gift bag, team lunch, ticket to the game, T-shirt
  • $70 per couple: Includes, a second hometown party ticket, lunch and football tickets for two. (Only 1 gift bag will be included in the couple's package)

Friday, Oct. 14
2-3 p.m.       Reunion Check-in at Frank R. Campbell Stadium
                        - Invited to Friday practice
                        - Distribution of Weekend Itinerary
                        - Receive Gift bag
                        - Memorabilia, jerseys, helmets, and AU gear sales
                        - Information on 2006 replacement championship rings
4 p.m.          Averett University Football Program Presentation
                        - Welcome
                        - Program highlights
                        - Building a championship culture
                        - Stadium/Press box Facility Tour
5 p.m.          Friday practice
                        - AU football Friday walk-thru
                        - AU past and present (Gather around the Logo)
                        - Sing Alma Mater/Fight Song
6:30 p.m.     Homecoming Hometown Party at Community Market (Ticket included in registration)
                         - 21 and over
                         - Dinner
                         - Beer/wine
                         - Live music and dancing
                         - Recognition of senior class and cheer squad
                         - Recognize 2006 Championship Team
10:30 p.m.     AU Football After Party (Kickback Jack's)
                         - Socialize

10 a.m.-12 p.m.  Averett Athletics Hall of Fame Inductions (at Frith Fine Arts Center)

1-2 p.m.           AU Football Pregame (at Frith Fine Arts Center)
                         - Join the team as they mentally prepare for Greensboro College

2-3 p.m.           AU Football Pregame Meal (at Averett Dining Hall)
                         - Reliving the pre-game experience

2-4 p.m.           AU Football Tailgate (Tailgate Alley)
                        - Catch up with old friends
                        - Enjoy the college football atmosphere
                        - Youth activities

4 p.m.           Cougar Walk
                         - Join Team No. 17 as they walk through tailgate alley
                         - Building new tradition

6 p.m.           Kickoff - Averett vs Greensboro College
                     - Special sideline alumni area provided
